BEECH
The Green or English Beech (Fagus Sylvatica) is one of the most popular of all hedges in the UK. It has a very shiny, glossy leaf, that although being deciduous, hangs on to the stem even after turning bronze in the autumn, therefore creating an all year round screen. Beech prefer sandy or chalk soils, but can be established on clay soils almost as well. We recommend planting in a double row at the rate of five plants per metre.
Copper Beech (Fagus Sylvatica Purpurea) is sought after because it makes a stunning colourful hedge, deep purple in colour.

Green or Common beech is one of the most popular deciduous hedging plants found in the UK. It has a smooth grey bark and stunning autumn colour, with leaves that tend to hang on to the plant throughout winter, meaning that it will provide a barrier all year round. Available here 60-90cms tall in 3ltr pots.
